Good news, people! I finally got someone to talk with me about the legal obligation of ESL teachers. Who knew this was going to be such a tough topic to crack??
Just to gain interest, I poked the beast: publicly posed the question, If I should see a student I know is illegal working outside of school, should I report them? One ESL teacher responded, "Why on earth would you want to do that?" My response is the reason for this entire episode: If you're a professional in your field, you should probably know what you could get in big trouble for.
So here it is: an episode for all ESL teachers--a legal background of our field, plus an outline of what we could get us in bukoo trouble. Special guest Ed Steinman, a practicing civil law attorney and professor at Santa Clara University. You won't want to miss this one.
