Episode 2: A Small but Mighty History of ESL

It's here! Episode 2 features an interview with the famous lawyer of the Lao vs. Nichols case that brought standards (and rights) to ESL education and its students, Mr. Ed Steinman. He gives an honest account of what it was like to defend a case as a newly practicing civil law attorney and the kind of push-back he received.

Also, Mr. Steinman discusses civil law in the ESL field today as I question him about our legal obligation as ESL teachers to our students, many of home we KNOW are illegal. We are in a precarious situation as employees of the law, yet the private confidant of many of these new arrivals and their families.
